Castel di Sangro (AQ) rises at 793 m, in an excellent position, probably on the site of a previous Samnite or Roman fortified site.Why visit it: it preserves a typical architecture of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. In addition, remains of megalithic walls on the mountain on which the Samnites defended are recognizable.

Ideal destination for lovers of history, art but also of wellness and nature. Castel di Sangro is the most important commercial and service center in the vast Alto Sangro area. City also active in the sports field, it can rely on a Federal Tennis Center and high-level football facilities. For some time it has started an interesting tourism development policy, adapting its hotel accommodation and its sports and leisure facilities, which connects it to the tourist resorts of the Altipiani Maggiore (Roccaraso-Rivisondoli-Pescocostanzo).

There is also a professional cooking school which prepares young enthusiasts to become chefs. The selected hotel facilities are about 200 meters from all the sports facilities in Castel di Sangro

The sports facilities are:
- Soccer fields with natural or synthetic grass
- The tennis courts are both red clay and resin
- The Palazzetto dello Sport has a PVC floor
- The Liberatore gym has parquet flooring
